Walk into any TEREA shop in Dubai and you will see the same flavor names on very different packs: Japanese text, Indonesian text, Russian or Uzbek text, Italian text. This guide explains what a TEREA “country version” is, how the versions differ, and how to pick the right one for you.

Short answer: every TEREA country version works in every IQOS ILUMA device. The differences are the flavor range, the packaging and health warning language, and small differences in taste between markets. Japan has the widest and most unique range, Indonesia has many exclusive flavors, Central Asia covers the classic flavors at everyday value, and Europe (Italy and Switzerland) offers a familiar European taste profile.

What is a TEREA country version?

Philip Morris International makes TEREA for many different markets. Each market gets packs printed in its own language with its own health warnings, and each market gets its own selection of flavors. When a shop in the UAE sells “TEREA Japan” or “TEREA Kyrgyzstan”, it means the pack was made for that market.

The stick format is the same everywhere: a TEREA pack holds 20 sticks and a carton holds 10 packs (200 sticks). All of them use the SmartCore Induction System, so they all work with IQOS ILUMA, ILUMA ONE, ILUMA PRIME and the newer ILUMA i, ILUMA i One and ILUMA i Prime.

TEREA Japan

TEREA Japan has the largest and most distinctive flavor range. It is the only place to find the Japanese Regular line, which uses tobacco-style names instead of colors:

• Regular / tobacco: Regular, Rich Regular, Balanced Regular, Smooth Regular, Warm Regular and Ruby Regular.
• Menthol: Menthol, Mint, Purple Menthol, Black Menthol and Black Purple Menthol.
• Pearl capsule: Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl.

Many smokers who move to heated tobacco say the Japanese versions feel fuller and more flavorful. Japan packs are usually the most expensive version in the UAE, so they suit people who already know they love a specific Japanese flavor, for example TEREA Black Menthol Japan or Rich Regular Japan.

TEREA Indonesia

TEREA Indonesia has a large range with several flavors you will not find in other markets, including the TEREA Dimensions flavors Yugen and Apricity, plus Golden Edition, Black Green, Green, Blue Wave and Bright Wave. It also carries classics such as Sienna, Bronze, Purple Wave, Sun Pearl and Oasis Pearl.

Indonesian TEREA is a strong choice if you want to explore new flavors at a price below the Japanese range.

TEREA Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

The Central Asian versions cover the best-known TEREA flavors and are usually the most affordable way to buy them by the carton.

• Kyrgyzstan: Amber, Silver, Yellow, Turquoise, Purple Wave, Sun Pearl and Provence Pearl.
• Tajikistan: Amber, Silver, Turquoise, Purple Wave, Twilight Pearl and Tidal Pearl.
• Uzbekistan: Amber, Silver, Yellow, Turquoise, Purple Wave, Summer Wave and Zing Wave.

If you smoke one classic flavor every day, such as Amber, Silver or Purple Wave, a Central Asian carton is usually the best value.

TEREA Europe: Italy and Switzerland

TEREA Italy uses slightly different names for its menthol flavors: Turquoise Menthol, Purple Wave Menthol, and the Pearl capsule flavors Sun Pearl Menthol, Oasis Pearl Menthol and Twilight Pearl Menthol. It also has Amber, Silver and Sienna.

TEREA Switzerland has Amber, Silver, Yellow, Bronze, Turquoise, Purple Wave and the strong regular flavor Teak.

Do the same flavors taste different between countries?

A little, yes. The flavor name and style are the same, but each market version is produced for local preferences, and many users notice small differences in strength, aroma or menthol intensity. For example, Purple Wave is available from six markets in our store, and regular buyers often have a favorite version. The best way to find yours is to buy single packs of two versions and compare them before buying a carton.

Which TEREA version should you buy?

• You want the widest choice or the Japanese Regular line: TEREA Japan.
• You want something new and exclusive: TEREA Indonesia.
• You want a classic flavor at the best carton price: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan.
• You prefer a European taste profile: Italy or Switzerland.

You can browse every version side by side in our TEREA sticks category. Every order is delivered across the UAE with Cash on Delivery, and delivery is free on orders over 400 AED.

Frequently asked questions

Do all TEREA country versions work in IQOS ILUMA i?

Yes. Every TEREA version, from any country, works in all IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices.

Is TEREA Japan stronger than TEREA from other countries?

Many users find the Japanese versions fuller in taste, but strength depends mostly on the flavor. Teak, Rich Regular and Sienna are among the stronger tobacco flavors; Yellow, Smooth Regular and Turquoise are lighter.

Why do some flavors only exist in one country?

Each market gets its own flavor selection. That is why flavors like Yugen and Apricity are only found in the Indonesian range and the Regular line is only found in the Japanese range.

TEREA is for adults aged 18 and over. Tobacco products contain nicotine, which is addictive, and are not risk-free.
